Fairly satisfied despite the result, captain and setter Nicola Mazzonelli says:
“In Verona we started again after a poor perfomance in Forli. With the current leader we managed to play evenly for most of the match, considering Verona is clearly stronger than us, and we faced them with a revisited formation.
We only gave up in the end against a team who is technically superior to ours. I am fairly satisfied even though we did not get any points but it will be that way for many teams…. It could be an important way towards safety.
We had a reaction a fter Forli and we now need to look forward without losing our confidence and taking too much notice of the standings adn hoping to recover some of our players.
Libero andrea Zappaterra is quite upset: “I am quite upset at the moment because we have not moved in the standings. In some phases of the match we did really good things but as usual we lacked in continuity due to some distractions which we cannot afford to have.
Sure we faced the leader and we did not have all our players available but it is just an alibi because at some point in the match I hoped we could have done better. We can do a lot better and we need 8 or 9 victories to avoid demotion”.
