Yesterday afternoon, Martina Franca reached an agreement with the captain of the Italian national team, Luigi Mastrangelo, who had hardly rescinded his contract with Roma. Born in Mottola, near Taranto, on the 17th of August 1975, ‘Gigi’ or ‘Mastro’, as he is nicknamed, is on his way back home.
“He arrives with great motivation – said Chairman Bongiovanni – It’s an important investment for the club, which I believe will be extremely positive, be that from a technical or from a mediatical standpoint, because he’s famous just about everywhere. He will probably help increase the interest in Martina franca”.
Mastrangelo will wear shirt number 11 and should already be available for Monday’s home game against Montichiari.
