THE PRMOTION PLAY OFFS HAVE CONQUERED THE AUDIENCE

The echo of the sport success which projected Mare&Volley Forli in Serie A1 TIM has not faded yet, but the Italy of volleyball has one more reason to smile.
As emphasized by “Il Sole 24 Ore” on monday the 2nd of june, the audience figures registered by volleyball this season are positive. The confirmation of this trend arrives frim Serie A2 TIM, ended last June the 1st.
Serie A2 TIM, infact, matches the top league trend and in the promotions playoffs which have just been filed, the total numbers show a growing appeal for the second Italian championship.
The 17 matches played in the quarterfinals, semifinals and final have registered 30.726 spectators for an average of 1.808 per match against the 1.726 of last year (+4.5%).
Even more amazing the figures of the series between Marmi Lanza Verona and MAre&Volley Forli, simply the most watched ever. The three matches registered an absolute record for the promotions playoffs with 13.936 spectators for an average of 4.645 per match. The increase compared to last year is 187% with regards to the total spectators attending and 91.9% per match.

THE TOP. The award for the most watched match of the promotion playoffs 2007/08 goes to match 3 of the final. PalaOlimpia in Verona hosted 5.534 spectators, the match with the highest number of presences in the Serie A2 TIM championship this season. A figure that rewards the incredible passion this final has been able to switch on, even though it is not an absolute record, only second to another match 3, the one between Adria Volley Bernardi Trieste and Raffaele Lamezia in the 2002/03 season which had 5.780 spectators attending.
