TRENTO – CUNEO, THE BIG MATCH

Just in time to close the fist leg and the Serie A1 TIM is ready to dive into the second one.
It will be a start with fireworks given the Big Match in Trento between Bre Banca Lannutti cuneo, winter champions and Itas Diatec Trentino, third in the standings. It is the 24th challenge between the teams, 16 won by Cuneo and 7 by Trento. Cuneo has always won the last 4 matches a PalaTrento. To be able to witness a success by Trento we have to go back to teh 7th of march 2004 when Itas (coached by the ex Prandi himself) imposed themselves for 3-0. Itas Diatec will have to check Winiarski’s conditions, out in the last 4 matches.
For M. Roma Volley, second in the standings, a home match against Antonveneta Padova, the only team who imposed an away defeat to the romans at the beginning of the championship, causing a black mark to their otherwise immaculate journey.
In the second leg, Andreoli Latina will have to show if the recovery signs seen in the past two matches (a victory in Taranto and a tie break defeat in Trento) can represent a starting point for a come back. Gulinelli’s team has demonstrated to have made some progress in the understanding between Mattera and the rest of team and in their shape. At PalaBianchini Acqua Paradiso Montichiari is coming, still upset about the exclusion from the TIM CUP A1 Final Eight 3 days ago.
In the challenge marking Pupo Dall’Olio’s come back to Piacenza, between Copra Nordmeccanica and RPS-LuigiBacchi.it Perugia, we are eager to find out who will make it between the first leg bomber Hristo Zlatanov and the one who blocked the most, Czech middle blocker Richard Nemec.

On sunday teh Serie A2 TIM will be back for the third round of the second leg. Marmi Lanza Verona, still at the top, is hosting Mare&Volley Forli at PalaOlimpia. It is going to be a peculiar match for Verona’s libero Matteo Tabanelli, Forli’s ex, team that launched him in Serie A, and also for middle blocker Massimo Botti, seven seasons with Forli’s shirt where he played as a spiker.
Verona is back with the whole group available after Janic’s full recovery; it will be one of the highlights of teh week end just like the one between Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia and Esse-ti Carilo Loreto, scheduled for 20.30 for the live broadcasting on SNAI Sat (Sky ch 220).
Vibo, still without Insalata and uncertain about Lucio Oro, are after their 12th consecutive victory while Moretti’s team it is coming to the match after a troubled week due to the flu which affected many of the players.
Framasil Cucine Pineto – Raccorderie Metalliche Mantova will tell, maybe, who will still be going for safety this year between the two teams. It will be a real test especially for Mantova, going for one of the two consecutive matches which will decide their future (next sunday they are hosting Spoleto).
It is Monini Marconi themselves who will be hosting Premier Hotels Crema this time counting on recovered Roberto Cazzaniga.
Materdomini Volley.it Castellana Grotte and Codyeco Santa Croce are going through a good phase, meeting eachother at the week end for the 6th time. The balance sees S. Croce ahead (3-2) who is still playing without diagonal player Fabbiani on sunday. Mater won 3-0 in the first leg.
A very delicate match for Fiorese SpA Bassano in Isernia against Olio Pignatelli. New coach Cretu will make his debut on their bench, with the task of getting the team out of the difficult place in the standings.
Tiscali Cagliari has all the intentions of inverting the trend of the last few matches. Defeated 6 times in the last 7 matches, they are about to face SP TTTLines Catania, who is dealing with Stefano Moro’s back problem.
Finally, a home appointment for Stilcasa Salento d’amare Taviano against Divani&Divani Avellino, who is desperately seeking precious points in order to revive their situation in the standings.
