SERIE A1 TIM ON COURT ON WEDNESDAY FOR THE END OF THE FIRST LEG

THE EIGHT TEAMS TAKING PART IN THE TIM CUP A1 WILL BE DECIDED

The second break of the Serie A1 TIM championship is coming to an end. After exactly 21 days, the teams of the top Italian championship will be back at 20.30. They will do that for the last round of the first leg, the one that will determine the grid of the TIM CUp A1 Final Eight which includes the first eight teams in the standings.

Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo, M. Roma Volley, Itas Diatec Trentino and Cimone Modena are already qualifyed and they will play on wednesday in order to get the best placing they can. It is a totally different matter for another seven teams:Antonveneta Padova, Lube Banca Marche Macerata, Sisley Treviso, Acqua Paradiso Gabeca Montichiari, Copra Nordmeccanica Piacenza, Sparkling Milano and RPA-LuigiBacchi.it Perugia.
All of these are still playing to go through to the TIM Cup A1, with different chances between them. For Padova and Macerata, in the worst case scenario, it will be enough to win one set to automatically access the Final Eight.
It is more complicated for the remaining two available places. A lot will depend on the cross challenge between Sparkling and Sisley. Sisley’s full victory would mean qualifying for them, same thing for Montichiari in Macerata.
Hard long distance challenge between Acqua Paradiso Gabeca Montichiari and Copra Nordmeccanica Piacenza. The two formations are both on 17 points in the standings, with the same amount of matches and sets won. Establishing the one who will qualify, in case of an equal victory, will be the number of total points scored. At the moment it is in favour of Montichiari: 1.01 against 1.00. The difference, at the moment, is just by two points.
Even more complicated is the Sparkling situation: in order to qualify they will have to score a point more than Montichiari and Piacenza.
Down to nothing are the hopes of RPA-LuigiBacchi.it Perugia, forced to a three points victory in Cuneo against Bre Banca Lannutti and hoping for the three teams ahead of them will not score any points at all.
