MACERATA – Lube Banca Marche Macerata wins the Serie A1 TIM 14th round deferement. Paying for it is Cimone Modena who at the end of 5 tought sets has to surrender to De Giorgi’s men. A two hours and 11 minutes battle, often played evenly an dressed with many mistakes from both sides. Dennis, the great ex of the match, offers a magnificent performance with 25 points in total.
De Giorgi, without Geric still injured, has to deal with Swiderski’s lows in the first two sets and Omrcen’s on a bad day, replaced by Bartoletti from the 4th set. He is the one signing the 4th and 5th sets putting down important balls. In the first set Lube Banca Marche Macerata is forced to run after Cimone from the start; but the attempts to get to them are stopped by teh yellow&blue blocks. The set closes on 23-25.
Same score for the second set but the other way around.
In the third set Giani’s men take off powerfully. On 13-18 the game seems over but here’s Vermiglio & Co’s reaction, who get dangerously closer. Paparoni spikes the 23-24 but Modena is good at managing the second set ball. Lube Banca Marche goes for it and is back on court full of life.
They go for it straight away and Bartoletti spikes two decisive balls for points 22 and 23. Modena is stuck on 19. The set closes on 25-23 with some heartache for the supporters who carry their team to victory in the end.

It is 15-11 for De Giorgi’s men at tie break and 2 points to add to their standings worth the 4th place.

Ferdinando De Giorgi: (Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “Tonight’s teams are different from the ones who met for the first round of the championship, clearly more suare and together. Winning gives us confudence but we need to work more in order to grow. Now we’ll look at the next appointments in the championship”.

Andrea Giani (Cimone Modena): “It was a match played evenly for a long time but with many mistakes made from both sides. It will be balances when we will meet in the TIM CUP too but now let’s think about our next appointments”.
