SIX TIMES SISLEY: IN TREVISO THE ITALIAN TITLE UNDER 20
Sisley Treviso put their hands on the TIM Junior League 2008 – “Massimo Serenelli’s Trophy”. This is the 6th time that Sisley Treviso graduates as the Italian Champions Under 20. Winning was not a simple task because Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo was a great opponent, who put balance and order on court but with a mistake too many. Maruotti&Co. make up for last year when they lost to Macerata.
Emotions and balance start from the very beginning and the first set is decided on the razor blade. Treviso conquers the set ball but Petrelli’s boys do not give up and take advantage of the two mistakes in attack made by Gabriele Maruotti, winnning the set for 26-24.
Sisley comes back on court dominating. In attack the team is perfect. Maruotti and Jiri Kovar have the centimetres and the power to close the fight without appealing. Sisley gets more and more good at serving and blocking with a more and more careful digging.
On the other side of the net, Bre Banca Lannutti cuneo hasn’t got the same ease in putting the ball down, diagonal player Fumagalli struggles and Petrelli revolutionises the team putting Michele Baranowicz as diagonal player and Mattia Coscione setter. A move that surprises Treviso only temporarily closing the match for 3-1 in the end.
Today’s success is special because for Sisley’s coach Michele Zanin enters the history of this competition with his 5th success, one more than the unforgettable A. Skiba.
The match will be broadcasted on wednesday the 4th of june at 20.00 on SKY Sport 2 commented by Roberto Prini and Andrea Zorzi.
In today’s other final, Lube Banca Marche Macerata finished in third place beating Cimone Modena for 3-0.
