Modena – Modena incredibly went back to life against the league leaders Macerata. This time, a good first set was not followed by some poor plays. The team kept at it, playing with fighting spirit and a sharp serve that made the reception percentage of Macerata to go down. However, what the leaders really missed yesterday was their attack, at an unusual 38%. Modena did well to limit Swiderski and Omrcen with a dominant dig. The only one that managed to play at his normal best was Matteo Martino.
Wytze Kooistra (Trenkwalder Modena): “These are two important points deservedly won against the league leaders. We’re working hard but we�€�re still got a lot to do. Today we could see we have quality, but we have to find the consistency to take some points and turn things around”.
Mirko Corsano (Lube Banca Marche Macerata): “As it often happens when we play away from home, we start off slow and make many mistakes. On the positive side, we reacted well. Given the way we were playing, it was not easy, we could have given up, but we kept pulling together, until we had the possibility to win the game with two match points. Unfortunately, our comeback was not completed”.
