EUROPEAN CUPS
Five Italian teams are involved in European Cup competitions this week. It will all start with the Champions League, Piacenza and Trentino. The Italian Champs travel to Beauvais, French team that should not represent a big threat for Grbic and co as they are not doing especially well in their domestic league.
Following this weekend’s win, Piacenza is ready to strike again in its PalaBanca gym. Zlatanov and co will challenge the Netherlanders of Apeldoorn (differed on SportItalia from 10.30pm).
Treviso is on its way to Tel Aviv, where it will play the return game having a 3-1 advantage from the first leg.
The best competition will be back in the PalaFontescodella gym on Wednesday with the visit of Belgium team Randstad Roedelare. De Giorgi has to make do with a few physical worries in his team concerning Rodrigao and Monopoli.
Cuneo is facing a tough trip to Cannes, Frances. Not only, the team has to forget about this weekend’s defeat against Macerata but it also has to turn things around after suffering a 3-2 loss in the first leg against Pierre Pujol’s team.
