Piacenza – This opening game of the 7th round started with the melodies of ‘Emily Road’ and ‘4ever’ as part of Piacenza’s project to have live music before the games.

The hosts got off to the better start, being more accurate and organised. Lorenzetti€s team grabbed the first set without much trouble despite a late comeback. Piacenza began the second set well too and managed to keep a 5-point gap from start to finish to lead 2-0.  The third set was tighter, but Bravo (MVP of the Game) assisted by Marshall and Rak, who had the last word with an ace, made it a straight set victory for the hosts. This is Piacenza’s fifth win in 7 games (third consecutive) which earns them a momentary second place in the table. Perugia stays in seventh place with 12 points.

Joao Paolo Bravo (Copra Nordmeccanica Piacenza): “The key to victory was the facet we played simple and organised even though we were facing a great team like Perugia. We handled well the difficult times without losing our heads. I’m personally satisfied with my performance, but a game like this is won thanks to a team effort”.

Vigor Bovolenta (RPA-LuigiBacchi.it Perugia): “This Piacenza proved too strong for us. We never really managed to get in the game. To play here as an opponent is emotional, this gave me a special feeling. I owe a lot to Piacenza, where I spent 5 unbelievable years”.
