Macerata got off to a good start in Europe too, coming back from Belgrade with a 3-1 win in the Champions League. The victory of De Giorgi’s team makes it three out of three and a hundred percent record for the Italian clubs as Trentino and Piacenza had already won yesterday.
De Giorgi left starters Swiderski and Lebl on the bench and sent Snippe and Rodrigao on. This game could not be taken for granted, and it proved tight in the final set two with the scoreboard showing 2-1. But eventually, Omrcen fire in a powerful ace that snatched it for Macerata on a 26-24 score.
