There are only two games left before we get to the halfway point of the season and, more importantly, before we know who will qualify for the Italian Cup Final Eight. And Perugia is preparing for its most important game of the season so far. On Monday night, live on Sky, it will travel to Pineto, the newly promoted side that surprised everyone in this beginning of season. Pineto currently stands in 9th place, just one point behind Perugia, 8th. Perugia’s main worry will be to contain the pair of Brazilian stars: setter Rodriguinho and Rivaldo, in order to obtain an extremely important result.
Perugia lost its last two encounters against Cuneo and Trento but the team remains in good spirit “We have to believe more in ourselves – explained Goran Vujevic – We are going to Pineto with our feet on the ground. We know they are fighting against us to get into the Italian Cup but we have some easier games ahead (next at home against Modena). I’m confident. We just have to believe in it and play our game”.
