The big match between Sisley Volley Treviso and Cimone Modena is back, a classic for Sisley. The teams met 90 times in the past starting from the 13th of december 1988 (Sisley-Panini Modena 0-3) up to the last season on the 7th of April 2007 (Sisley-Cimone 3-0): 47 victories for Treviso and 43 for Modena in total, a challenge that has become part of the Italian volleyball history.
TENCATI IS BACK
Palaverde will see Fabio Tencati as an ex for the first time after being at Sisley since 1996. In 10 seasons he won 6 championships, 3 champions cups, 4 Italian cups and many more trophies.
He will be given a prize from the Club before the match with a creation from maestro Varisco and from the supporters.
Another ex will be spiker Casoli, 2 championships won with Treviso in 2005 and 2006.
MEDICAL ROOM, CISOLLA IS IMPROVING
Cisolla’s shoulder is better. He started training again but Del Zotto will decide the line up at the last minute between Cisolla and Horstink, mvp twice in the last two matches.
INTERVIEW WITH PUJOL: The new French setter before his first Treviso-Modena says: “I know it is a very important challenge in the Italian volley, a special match and I am charged up to face it. Modena has a Brazilian bone structure and I alway enjoy meeting these types of teams and players.
We always play Brzil with the French NAtional team and it is alway exiting so I hope this one will be the same”.
Who is the favourite?:”I cannot judge yet after only a few matches this season, I think it ios 50-50 and we will see what will make the difference. We are both strong teams with important players and good technique so it will be a balanced match.
I am happy about this positive pressure, it is more difficult to face matches where you start as favourite, this time both teams want to win so it will be a good match”.
How is your feeling with the players as a setter? “Very good, improving everyday. We are working at it in training but it will take time”.
Two victories that put the team in a good mood: “Victory in Treviso is in the DNA, they are not used to losing ever.It is easier to work on the wings of enthusiasm though.
Now we need to carry on on this tone and tomorrow’s match against Modena will be an important test”.
