SERIE A1 TIM – TITLE FINAL 2007
GAME 1 TO SISLEY TREVISO THAT WINS 3-1
MVP: LUCA TENCATI

Sisley Treviso carried by Tencati and Gustavo blocks and by the great night of Alberto Cisolla (18 pt – 70% in attack) wins the first Title Final 2007 match against Copra Berni Piacenza.
A very suffered victory for the team coached by Daniele Bagnoli that, after losing the first set, has been protagonist of a great recovery that allows them to start the series in the best possible way.
A lot of regrets instead for Piacenza that, after playing on very high levels, loses its game, leaving at the Palaverde the chance to start the series in a better way. Ahead 11-7 in the second set and 22-19 in the third, they are not able to close allowing Treviso to close the match.
Mvp of the night the Sisley middleblocker Luca Tencati.
Back on the court on Sunday in Piacenza for Game2.

TREVISO – The match did start with only one team on the court: Copra Berni Piacenza. They started the match really well. Grbic can count on an almost perfect passing of both Marshall and Manià (still replacing Sergio) and, the attack goes really well like it did against Cuneo during the semifinals. The cuban and Zlatanov close the set with a percentage higher than the 80%, with 6 points each. The block did the rest: 6 blocks compared to only 1 made by Gustavo. And Sisley? Vermiglio does not set well, Fei does not realize that the match has actually started (14%). Teh only one is Cisolla, among the best players of the night, but the set goes to Piacenza that wins 25-18.
In the second set the beginning seems to be a copy of the first one, in favour of Piacenza: after a tight beginning, Cozzi block (11-7) seems to open the road to Copra verso for the victory of the second set too.
Treviso, hurted in its pride this time, starts to fight back and scores immidiately an important break: 3 points in a row and the score goes to 13-13. Tencati scores the passing point.
From this point Sisley changes the match. Piacenza is not able to handle the recovery of the home team and the second sets goes to Treviso with the score of 25-21
During the third set a great battle is on since the first point. It seems that Piacenza got something more: defense, attack, blocks like in the first set. The whole team is inspired by Nikola Grbic. After the second timeout the score is 16-12 for Piacenza.
But Treviso does not give up and start a great recovery with a Tencati block on Zlatanov (21-22). Copra loses its game. Simeonov attack is the last signe of life for Copra Berni. After that point Papi scores two consecutive points and the sets goes to Treviso with the score of 25-23
Game 1 basically ended after the third set. In the fourth set Piacenza becomes really nervous. Treviso does what they want and Cisolla scores the last point of the match that gives to Treviso the first point in the series.

COMMENTS:

Luca TENCATI (Sisley Treviso): “It was important to start really well and I am very happy for my team because we won the match playing better and better during the match. The recovery of the second set has been crucial. But the series is still long, this is just the first step”.

Vigor BOVOLENTA (Copra Berni Piacenza): “We wasted a huge chance, Sisley started the match really badly and we did not take advantage of that. When, in the scond set, they started to play we did not react. It is a pitty for the third set when we could close it in our favour. I really hope to be able to be back on the court in Game 2 so that I can finally give also my support to the team”

Alberto CISOLLA (Sisley Treviso): “These are the finals, it is important to win not to play well. In the second set we have been good to recover a situation that seemed to be lost and compromised and then everything became easy. Game 2 will be very difficult and hard because we will play against a great team especially when they play at home, so the tonight result is really important”.

Francesco DALL’OLIO (All. Copra Berni Piacenza): “We just lost two sets: we have to stop and think about that. Against Treviso you can’t grant anything, now the pressure is on us and on Game 2 it will be important and crucial to understand if we will still be able to beat Sisley”.
