Olio Pignatelli Isernia definitely more of a team compared to Crema which is too “Cazzaniga dependant”.
Olio Pignatelli Isernia:
A hard working Olio Pignatelli Isernia imposed itself with a convincing 3-1 on Premier Hotels Crema despite all the predictions; good receiving, stinging serving, careful blocking and aggressive attack, with a punctual study of the opponents they managed to win the “Cazzaniga dependant” Premier Hotels.
The away match did not start very well for Isernia when the Argentine Bidegain got diagnosed with a sub-dislocation of a phalanx in right hand. Gemmi goes on court (still not 100%) and Chiovini takes advantage of the Under 23 rule, Spampinato being the other player under 23, allowing a good base for counter attacking, while the spiker Lube plays a great match based on tactics.
While Scappaticcio invents, on the opposite side the game is given but 53 balls in 4 sets are too much even for Cazzaniga whose performances goes down in the fourth set helping Isernia; the Brasilian Fant is chosen for his serving and he gets 68% positiveness and 57% perfection plus 20 successful attacks. Also great performance from Pagni, serving and De Luca, blocking.
It looks like Gemmi throws Crema with his good serving together with Negao’s. Only Cazzaniga seems to be able to keep up.
The second set starts well for Scappaticcio & Co. on 1-6 but thanks to Di Marco they go up to 8-9. Chiovini’s men control their advantage and not even Aiello’s serving manages to stop them.
Same start in the following set (7-2) when young Tamburo’s good attacks bring them back up to minus 2. The locals then manage to win when their supporters go on fire and Isernia somehow gets nervous.
The fourth set seems to start evenly but soon enough “Nano” Postiglioni starts Olio Pignatelli’s gallopping, stopping Cazzaniga and it’s 25-15.
So, a firy debut and a double success given the opponents and the outside match.
On sunday Santa Croce is warned.
