Nikola Grbic is the new setter of Itas Diatec Trentino. Trentino Volley has officially announced the new arrival this morning, during a press conference held at the Sala Consiglio del Palazzo sede del Gruppo Itas Assicurazioni , va Mantova 67 – Trento.
Grbic is a huge market strike; with the arrival of the setter, Itas Diatec Trentino has secured one of the most talented end experienced setter in the whole volleyball world.
His successes are so many: 264 presences with his national team, a gold medal at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and a European Championship title in 2001. With the Clubs he won an European Championship Title with Sisley Treviso, 2 European Supercups with Cuneo in 1997 and 1999, one Coppa delle Coppe with Cuneo in 1998, one Top Teams Cup in 2006 with Piacenza, 2 Italian Cups with Cuneo in 1999 and in 2000 with Sisley Treviso. In the last European Championship he has been awarded as best setter of the event. .
“I am very happy that I found an agreement with Trentino Volley – are his first words from Trento – . I can’t deny I did receive a lot of offers in the past weeks, but only Trento wanted me so hard since the beginning. I had the chance to talk a lot with new coach Radostin Stoytchev and he is so keen on starting his new job in the best possible way. When I was an opponent I always considered Trento and its arena one of the most difficult courts to play in also because of the amazing crowd always present at the PalaTrento to support the team”.
