L. Moretti: ” We have been more of a team than they have”
Two days after a beautiful vosctory in Verona, Esse-ti Carilo Loreto’s coach analyses the 3-1 inflicted to the opponent. Team play, the right tactics and perfect Bloccking-digging, are the secrets of their second consecutive victory in the championship.
“We did the best we could and what they let us do – Moretti declares – I think we have been more of a team compare to them who leaned on their main players a bit more”. He refers to Gato and Olieman. “Our goal was to limit these two players as much as possible, beign very dangerous. We did it with Gato – 7 points for him – with Janic and Olieman too, who has loer percentages than usual”.
After a great start in the first match, Moretti did not expect so many mistakes in the second one (17).
“We are a young team therefore difficult to keep at high levels of attention at all times – adds Moretti – I did not expect so many mistakes in the second set because that is not what happens in training. We lacked in patience waiting for the right time to play calmly”.
Positive third and fourth set though when the team started playing according to their potential again, great blocking-digging which Moretti is working on in training: “It is a positive characterisic we have. The second set was just a one off because in the following ones we started playing together reducing our mistakes and taking advantage of the opponent’s. We worked well on blocking and digging and I know that this aspect could be vital for the team so we will work on it through the year”.
