Latina – Match for your life tonight between Latina and Taranto. An In or Out as Gulinelli said, with two teams in the hot spot. Latina celebrates in the end after playing a great match with their heart and crowned by Riad’s splendid performance.
Taranto opens the hostilities trying to serve on Bruno Zanuto all the time, but he manages well and Taranto is not able to attack as effectively. That changes though and teh Brasilian together with captain Gilson and Riad turn things around getting to 22-18. A precious dowry which Gulinelli’s men do not waste, closing the set on 25-20, after another great digging.
In the second set Taranto pushes really hard from the beginning and thanks to the home team’s mistakes in attack and serving, they go on 2-6. Andreoli stays floating with Gilson’s hammering, still making too many serving mistakes in this first part of the set, they limit the damage getting to the first TTO on 5-8.
It is head to head and the gap between the team does not decrease until Mattera’s turn to serve, allowing Andreoli to reach 12-13. The hjead to head in the final part of the set is interrupted by Gulinelli calling Tomasetti on court with the task of float serving on Latelli and it works, so that Andreoli goes on 24-22, with a great block by Riad on ex team mate Vissotto, that closes the set powerfully (25-23) with the usual Gilson breaking the opponent’s double blocking.
Andreoli opens the third set following on what they were doing on the previous one, first Salmon then Gilson going on 2-0.
Latina digs well with a great Messana and they stretch out ot 4-1. An advantage they defent with their nails and teeth, not giving anything away but stepping even further away from Taranto.
Riad is relentless once again from the 9 mitres and he signs a further gap which cuts Lattari’s men’s legs. Latina thanks everyone and takes three points home, closing the set with two aces by captain Gilson who got 1145 people applauding, the ones who wanted to believe in Gulinelli’s team till the end.

Giordano Mattera (Andreoli Latina): “A victory which gives us a double pleasure, both because of the situation we were in and because someone said Taranto was technically better than us. Today we proved that it is not like that”.
