Mikko Esko will be one of the thousand faces celebrating 90 years of independence of his country, invited by the President of the Republic himself. Many the politicians, business and sports celebs present, like Kimi Raikkonen, F1 World Champion with the Ferrari team.
“It is a great honour for me to be called for this occasion – Esko says – and it is a sort of crowning achievement for a fantastic 2007, from all points of view. We are achieveing great results with Antonveneta Padova and my National team, also I got married and I feel I have grown from all points of view. This has been one of the best years of my life”.
Coming to the match against Famigliulo Corigliano on sunday the 9th of december, the setter thinks this will be the chance to understand where the team can get to. “In the 8 matches we played we scored more points than we thought we would. It is not just by chance because we played against some of the strongest teams of the championship like Roma and Treviso. Now we have to face formations whose aim is safety and we know they will not give anything away. A victory against Corigliano would open new horizons though. We could even think of getting into the Italian Cup then”.
“In the past two years we have been defeated many times and that affected the overall tiredness. Now the morale is high and I am sure it will be easier to keep a good shape. Enthusiasm calls for victory.
Antonveneta Padova and Finland are very similar, they both have experienced and young players like Perazzolo who is just over 20 but one of the best diagonal players around”.
