PESARO – BPA Palas of Pesaro is still a lucky place for Lube Banca Marche Macerata. After the title last May, now also the last Trophy missed has arrived.
By beating 3-1 Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo, Macerata conquers the TIM Supercup 2006, 11th edition.
After a bad first set De Giorgi team start to play well and enjoy the crowd. Convincing attack: 51% and good blocks (12 blocks for Macerata and only 9 for Cuneo).
Bre Banca Lannutti di Prandi, after a good first set, was not able to keep up on the other three partials.
Among the best it is worth mentioning Rodrigao (5 blocks) and cuban Dennis, elected MVP of the TIM Supercup 2006.
Bad start with too many errors for the italian champions and for Bre Banca Lannutti the works seems easier (5-8 a the first time out)
Prandi team is the one that shows the best things: good game organization, well done blocks and fluid Coscione setting. Lube looks like in the match against Rome and makes too many errors.
So Cuneo closes the set 25-18 with no too many difficulties.
In the second set for Macerata Paparoni replaces Herpe. The team grows and Miljkovic starts to play as he know. Lube ahead 13-9 first and 19-17 then.
Bre Banca is not precise like in the first set but thanks to Lasko the team is able to tie the score up at 22-22.
But a couple of Coscione errors give the set to Lubediventa protagonista negativo con un paio di palleggi inattaccabili all’indirizzo di Giba che consegnano l’1-1 alla Lube (25-22).
The third set is very fought and the crowd starts to really enjoy the match. Macerata scores the first break: 15-13. Then Paparoni and Geric carry the team to the 21-17 and to the final 25-18 for Macerata that now leads 2-1
Good start for Macerata in the fourth set that keep the match in control and wins the set and the match.
