SERIE A VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE TALKS ABOUT NATIONAL TEAM AND YOUNG PLAYERS. IT IS NECESSARY TO TAKE THE PICTURE AROUND THE NATIONAL PLAYERS AND ESTABLISH THE FUTURE GOALS.
Serie A Volleyball League, President Diego Mosna, the managment and Serie A Clubs belive that it is necessary to take action about the National Team and young players programs.
It is correct what declared by Italian Volleyball Federation Carlo Magri: the national team and its future require the maximum effort now, with the World Championship coming, and for the future. Volleyball League and Clubs agree with Magri when he says: “The relationship between the National team coach and Juventus soccer club is becoming more complicated than what forseen, especially if he looks at soccer young players rather than volleball young players!”
The Volleyball League agrees and confirms its disappointment and does not agree with the double work of Coach Montali that now has to dedicate a lot of time to Juventus by taking time out from the National team that is in such delicate moment right now.
So Volleyball League joins Volleyball Federation President in his thoughts, and believes that the delicate moment of our national team requires all the time and the resources of the Coach in oder to fill up the current gap between Italy and the other national team: not only the brazilian one but also teams like France or Bulgaria.
Like for all the Serie A Clubs and coaches, focused 24/7 for ten months in a year on their teams, we would like that also the national team coach and its staff will give the maxium possible effort in order to build a great team. And all the Clubs agree in helping and trying to get out of this difficult moment of the National team, so that the Japan World Championship will end in the best possible way for our colors. Serie A Volleyball League in order give its support already decided to anticipate the beginning of the Championship and to stop it in a crucial moment, with all the consequences of the case, in order to help out the National Team.
At the end of the World Championship it is necessary that the Serie A Volleyball League and the FIPAVE will sit around a table and plan the future. It is necessary to do not confuse the number of foreign players, needful for keeping the level of the Championship high, with the numbers of the young players. It is a common thought of our Clubs: it will not be possible to have technically well prepared boys in the starting six only forcing the Clubs to have italian athletes in it. Young players have to deserve their places because they are better than their teammates, not because of the rules.
By increasing the numbers of the Italian players in a team does not mean that the young players will increase. We are in a very emergency situation with almost no valid young players.
Volleyball League is sure that the path taken two years ago with huge investiments in the young sectors by the Serie A Clubs and by the Volleyball League will get results. It will not happen soon so time is needed and contiunous confrontation with the Federation will be necessary to assure that the future will be established and programmed because often the young sector is forgotten in favour of the international events. But when the international results do not come we do not have to think only about the 18 national team players but build the players that will come in the future and the Volleyball League is already working on that.
