Itas Diatec Trentino:
Once again a large crowd (3615 people) watch the game between Itas Diatec Trentino and Copra Berni Piacenza. The match was also live on SKY sport 2. Before the beginning of the match Trento greet the recent Olympic Medals: Cristian Zorzi, Matteo Anesi and Anonella Confortola together with other olympic athletes such as Cecilia Maffei and Ermanno Ioratti.
The match comment:
First Set: At the first technical time out the Itas Diatec Trentino was 2 points behind but Savani block on Zlatanov get the score equal again. Millar blocked Marshall, 11-11. Nascimento ace on Marshall/Sergio, 12-11. Nascimento and Savani mistakes gave again 2 points lead to Piacenza. Time out asked by coach Lattari. Bovolenta ace and a Morsut pipe finally interrupt Piacenza break still ahead 13-15. Dall’Olio team is 3 points ahead at the second technical time out. Then a Marshall mistake and a Simeonov winning attack get the score to 14-17. Too many serving mistakes for Trento, 16-19, Bari in for Morsut to help the second line. Heller blocks Zlatanov, 17-19, but then wrong serve for the brazilian middle blocker, winning attack of Savani, 18-20 but then wrong serve again and Girbic block, 18-22. Second time out for Lattari. Winning fast for Millar and Morsut back in for the first line. Two Marshall blocks gave the first set to Piacenza for 19-25. The set ended with 7 blocks for Piacenza and 3 for Trento. 32% winning attacks for Piacenza and only 27% for Trento.
Second Set: 2-0 for Trento, but great defenses for Piacenza and an unstoppable Marshall lead Piacenza to the 6-8 after the first time out. Trento is back on the lead thanks to 2 Millar Blocks, but a Zlatanov winning attacks send the scor to 9-9. Two winning points by Heller and Simeonov, Zlatanov bloks Morsut and the score goes to 10-11. At the second time out the score is 16-15 for Trento. Winning point for Zlatanov, powerfull attack by Marshall and again winning attack by Zlatanov and the score is now 16-18. Serving mistake for Marshall, winning fast ball for Cardona who serve a wrong ball immidiately after, 18-19. Lattari is forced to call the time out when the score reaches 19-22. Savani penetrates the Piacneza block, 20-22. Marshall still perfect in attack as well as Nascimento, 21-23. Another winning attack by Marshall, 21-24. Great defense by Girbic and a Marshall block close the second set. Block is the added weapon for Piacenza: 5 in the second set with only 2 for Trento. 62% of winning attacks for Piacenza and only 40% for Trento.
Third Set: tight score up to the 5-5 and after that thanks to Heller Trento flies to 8-6. Simeonov mistake, Morsut point and Trento is now 10-6. The biggest advantage obtained by Trento until now. Two Morsut mistake one in serving and one inpassing and coach Lattari decided to change him for Bari. Great attack by Savani, same result right after with Marshall. Trento ahead 11-8. Attack for Savani but mistake immidiately after, 12-10. Long point won at the end by Zlatanov, 12-11. Net fault for Bovolenta, good Simeonov attack, but serving mistake for him after that, out the Zlatanov attack, 15-12. Very good Millar defens but not transformed in point because of the Piacenza block on Nascimento. Della Lunga attack got defended and Marshall get the point with a winning spike. Block on Della Lunga, 15-15. Winning spike for Dore, 16-15. Simeonov get through Della Lunga and Heller block, 16-16. Another very long point closed by Marshall block on Della Lunga who got a winning attack the point after. Winning point ofr Marshall, unstoppable today, 17-17. Winning block – out for Nascimento, 18-17. Once again Marshall hit the ball so high where the Trentino block cannot arrive. Winning point of Millar 19-19 but the serving mistake of Nascimento send the score to 19-20. Great attack for Nascimento 20-20. Good serving and a spectacular pipe, ace for Savani and Trento is ahead 22-20. Serving mistake for Savani and winning diagonal attack of Zlatanov and the score is 22-22. Good and powerfull serve of Simeonov and a block on Della Lunga sends Piacenza ahead 22-23. Simeonov mistake on serving, 23-23.
Winning attack for Marshall 23-24. Nascimento stopped the first Piacenza match point with a winning attack but a great pipe attack by Zlatanov get the score to 24-25. Another point for Nascimento 25-25. Great attack again for Nacimento but the referees judged the ball out. 25-26. Great block of Cardona and the match is over.
