Fiorese Bassano:
Too strong Taranto, too fragile Bassano. Truth is in the middle but at the moment both affirmations seem true. Schuil and De Giorgi didn’t work too hard to win the game against Bassano: in the first 2 sets they just played with the calm of the strong team, for the rest, an unreconizable Fiorese did its part. It’s not only the result (0-3) but the way they played and the attitude of the Giallorossi, in the game only on the 3rd set, when the score reached 23-23 and only two mistakes prevent them to set the score to 1-2.
Despite the last performances the crowd was amazing, 1800 people at the PalaBassano, but, a part from the last set the show was not as good as the crowd wished it. There was hope for a good match, especially after the vicotry in Ancona, arrived after two losses with Pineto and Gioia del Colle. The crowd didn’t ask for a victory but to play with the heart.
Definitely Dalla Libera was missed especially in attack, in a team already without a spiker like Desiderio. At the end of the game Mirko Dalla Libera, who supported his teammates from the bench, speaks as a real capitain “I’m sorry I couldn’t make it for the game because of my injury. But to be honest, I don’t think I’m a phenomenon and that without me the team is lost. I’m a part of a group and tonight I was hoping for a better reaction. We had nothing to lose and we could have played loose and relaxed. We could have confirmed the good sets played in Ancona and build something for the future. But we played too nervous and we made too many mistakes in attack and passing, especially in the first set. Taranto didn’t make errors at all. They deserve the first position and they deserve to go directly to A1. It’s a strong team, with great and experienced players.”
Techinically Fiorese didn’t serve properly giving the chance to Taranto to have a very good passing (100% positive in the second set). Bassano hanlded pretty well the Taranto serves as well but commit too many errors in attack. Not too much to say about the game. 15-25 the first set closed very quickly. A little better in the second. A whole different story in the 3rd, lost for two silly mistakes at the end. Boldo’s team has finally played with spirit and motivation, they defended and attacked continuosly arrving to lead 16-15 after the second time out. Kirchhein mitakes the ball of 21-19 with a spike slightly out of the court, but then he put heavy balls on the ground that keep the hope alive for the tema and the 1800 of the arena. Anyway on 23-23, the brazilian scored the 24-23 but the referees saw an invasion fault and the first set time, suddnely becomes the first match point for Taranto. The next point saw a spike mistake for Karipidis giving the victory to Taranto. Next sunday there is another very tough match against Crema, in second positon. It is necessary to start back from the 3rd set with the same motivation.
