With this victory Verona reaches the 6th position overtaking the Itas Diatec and Vibo Valentia. The first set is very tight. Verona serves and receive well while the block is still not all right. But the match started with a very strong message towards little Tommaso Onori liberation. The two teams arrived in the court wearing a shirt saying “Free Tommaso”. So very tight match up to 14-14 but then Verona get a 5 points breack and close the set 25-20. Second set starts totally in Verona favour. Swiderski doesn’t receive properly and Verona flies to 4-1 and Caponeri replace the player with De La Fuente. The Marmi Lanza team starts to find a great resistance with the hosted team block and Osvaldo Hernandez starts to grow in positivity and lead the team to the vicory of the set fo 25-22.
Good start for Verona in the 3rd set. Setter Nuti is perfect and Bernardi shows his talent, Gato does not betrayed the setter trust. Verona leads 14-7. Hernandez is back to the caos so Caponeri is forced to replace him with Novotny but only De La Fuente seems to keep up Perugia’s hopes but Verona doesn’t give up. Granvorka drives Perugia pasing crazy and Tofoli tried his best. The third set is over 25-15 for Verona.
4th set is a great show for Bologna. Perugia seems to finish up all the energy. From 11-9, carried by the crowd, Verona goes to 17-11 and easilly ends the match 25-19.
