2015 had been Simone Giannelli’s breakthrough year while in the past 12 months he played no less than 80 official games, 54 for Trentino Volley and 26 with the Italian national team.
« This has been a year full of great moments for me – he explained on Trentino TV – The first thing that comes back to my mind is the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in August, but I don’t forget all the rest and the fact you just cannot always win. There has also been some disappointment because I came very close from huge victories with my teammates, be that at club or International level. I will keep great memories of what the last 12 months brought me : Champions League, Olympic Games, these have been important competitions from which I have learnt a lot because I played against some of the greatest players in the world. I still have so much to do but I gathered a lot of experience in 2016 which will be useful for the future ».
