Saturday’s match against Sarlux Sarroch offered precious points for the league table. The two teams faced each other head-on and The Begin always remained close to their opponents and then gave up in the final and decisive phases of the sets.
Matteo Albanesi, Doric setter, analyzes the match: “It was a match that satisfied me from a gaming point of view; On the other hand, I’m disappointed because we weren’t able to deliver in the decisive moments of the sets, proving to be lackluster when needed. We played it point to point against a Sarroch who were well equipped in all departments, with very expert players. We are coming from a not very positive period, the physical problems have been preventing us from training at our best for two weeks now and this can be seen during the matches. We must learn to be more cynical: losing three sets at 22 shows that we stop at the best moment. It is important to put the defeat behind us, it will be essential for the team to reflect on what happened and raise morale in view of the next difficult match. Grit, determination and teamwork will have to return to the center of preparation, so that we can fight for every point again.”
The road ahead is still long, but with the right attitude, every obstacle can be overcome starting from Saturday 14 December in Acqui Terme where Negrini CTE is waiting for The Begin.
