Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina

A dream come true, the smallest volleyball team ever to arrive in the SuperLega with, however, a history of over fifty years behind it. The Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina faces the stage of the largest with the typical enthusiasm of the newly promoted, the awareness and humility of those who know that they will have a mountain to climb before them, and the single and firm objective of enjoying the journey and do everything to maintain the queen category. President Lucio Fusaro’s new Allianz Milano, assembled as usual between spring and summer by sporting director Fabio Lini, is ready to be forged by the highly confirmed technical staff led by coach Roberto Piazza with assistant Nicola Daldello. Finally, the opposite Tommaso Barotto: 212 centimeters of power and already a series of international successes on his shoulders. Last year he played in Serie A2 Credem Banca in Porto Viro; he also grew up in the Devils Powervolley. Three new foreigners from three continents to confirm Allianz Milano among the multinationals of the SuperLega Credem Banca. Arriving under the Madonnina, recommended by a certain Yuki Ishikawa, is Tatsunori Otsuka, a young Japanese spiker among the cornerstones of the Japanese national team, in his first European experience, coming from the Panasonic Panthers.

At the helm of the Gialloblù coach Alberto Giuliani, who took over last season and was confirmed on the Modena bench. Paul Buchegger, who returned to Modena after wearing the yellow-blue shirt in 2020/21, and Ahmed Ikhbayri, fresh from two years played in the Korean championship and making his debut in the Super League, make up the opposite department. Among the hammers, the new entry Josè Miguel Gutierrez stands out, who has already showcased his talent both in Cisterna and Taranto; Tommaso Rinaldi and Vlad Davyskiba, with the return of Jacopo Massari, complete the battery. Confirmed at the center are the expert Dragan Stanković and Giovanni Sanguinetti, as well as the young talent born in 2006 Pardo Mati and Simone Anzani, who returns to the shadow of Ghirlandina after wearing the yellow-blue shirt in 2018/19 when the conquest of the Italian Super Cup came, the the last bulletin board from Modena. The liberos are the same as last season, namely Filippo Federici and Riccardo Gollini.

Mint Vero Volley Monza

After the last season which saw it as a protagonist reaching second place in the Scudetto and Italian Cup Finals, Mint Vero Volley Monza is ready to experience another exciting year – the eleventh – in the SuperLega Credem Banca. There are many new faces and some will join the confirmed coach, Massimo Eccheli: Antonello Andriani and Riccardo Lugli, from Taranto and Neuchatel, will also sit on the bench. Silvio Colnago and Danilo Contrario, however, are nothing new for the Consortium, returning from the women’s A1 to the men’s team for the athletic part and statistics. Medical staff confirmed. In the roster, Monza will be able to count on key players such as the director Fernando Kreling, the center pair Thomas Beretta-Gabriele Di Martino, the libero Marco Gaggini and the opposite player Arthur Szwarc. The new spikers are ready to put on a show: Osmany Juantorena who arrived from Modena with his experience, the Finnish Luka Marttila, a returner, the talented German Erik Rohrs and the very young Korean Woo-jin Lee. The American Taylor Averill, Olympic bronze medalist, will bring his charisma to the center supported by Leandro Mosca, from Verona. Also returning from France with Ibrahim Lawani, opposite. Finally, two athletes from A2: Filippo Mancini from Ravenna will be alongside Kreling, while Matteo Picchio, from Cantù, will join Gaggini. Ambitions are high with Monza which this year will play in the CEV Champions League for the first time, and will aim for the Final Four of the Italian Cup. However, the Mint Vero Volley Monza season has already begun in Florence, at the Del Monte® Supercoppa: Beretta and his teammates were defeated in the Semifinal against Itas Trentino. Despite the various absences, the Brianza team performed well and sold their lives dearly.

Marco Falaschi will once again lead the Juventus team, in his second consecutive year in the shadow of the Saint. Sir Susa Vim Perugia

Sir Susa Vim Perugia presents itself at the starting line of the 80th Super League Championship after a historic season in which it achieved all its objectives: Club World Cup, Del Monte® Super Cup, Del Monte® Italian Cup and Super League. Ready to defend the titles won, including the Super Cup put on the board after the success of 22 September at Palazzo Wanny, it faces the new season with the strength of an unchanged technical team, starting with the leader Angelo Lorenzetti, assisted by his deputy Massimiliano Giaccardi and by Andrea Piacentini, in his fourth consecutive season on the bench as third coach. The athletic trainer Sebastian Carotti has also been confirmed, while the scoutman has changed after 13 years: after Francesco Monopoli’s greeting, Patrick Bandini arrives. The backbone of the roster remains structured like last year, with few but significant changes.  The diagonal remains unchanged: Giannelli-Ben Tara (with Jesus Herrera). The Juventus director is preparing to experience his fourth consecutive season with Sir Susa Vim Perugia. Confirmed at the center are the cornerstones of the team Roberto Russo and Sebastian Solè, respectively in their sixth and fifth season in Perugia. Confirmed is the experienced player Davide Candellaro and, the only new addition to the department, Agustin Loser who arrives from Allianz Milan after graduating as the best bricklayer last season. The most important news is in the spiker department, with the farewell of Wilfredo Leon, back in force in the Polish championship and the arrival of Yuki Ishikawa, competing for a starting place with the veteran Oleh Plotnytskyi and Kamil Semeniuk. Completing the department is the young Nicola Cianciotta, making his debut in the SuperLega championship.

Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza

Ambitions, enthusiasm and lots of smiles: these are the feelings with which Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza is preparing to play as a protagonist in the 2024/25 season, the sixth consecutive in the SuperLega. President Elisabetta Curti’s team, after finishing third in the standings last season but failing to gain access to a European competition, wants to raise the bar even further and changed its skin in the summer. Several high ball players said goodbye by going to Japan or Russia, others arrived. New faces in the four seats: Uros Kovacevic, who returns to Italy after a few years, and Stephen Maar, coming from Monza. Alessandro Bovolenta (from Ravenna) will form the opposite pair of the Italian national team with Romanò, while the Italian central defender Gianluca Galassi, from Monza, will strengthen the central team. They are joined by Nicola Salsi who returns to Italy after his Austrian experience to act as assistant director to the Olympic champion Antoine Brizard, the talented libero Luca Loreti and a central defender in his first year in Italy who goes by the name of Moussé Gueye. Also new on the bench: alongside the reconfirmed Andrea Anastasi as first coach and Matteo Bologna as assistant, here is Roberto Rotari who will be the assistant coach and the scoutman Antonio Mariano. The team will also be captained this year by Olympic champion Antoine Brizard, who is confirmed, together with Yuri Romanò, Robertlandy Simon in his third consecutive season in Piacenza, Fabio Ricci, Leonardo Scanferla and Robbert Andringa. The red and whites’ season opened with the Semifinal of the Del Monte® Supercoppa in Florence, which ended with a hard-fought victory in 4 sets for Perugia.

Gioiella Prisma Taranto

Gioiella Prisma Taranto, President Tonio Bongiovanni’s company, renews its ambitions. In its fourth consecutive year in SuperLega Credem Banca, after the historic salvation achieved in March, Taranto has entrusted the technical guidance of the rossoblù team to coach Dante Boninfante assisted by the phenomenon Samuele Papi, and by Danilo Paglialunga. The Ionian management has set up a competitive squad to aim for a more peaceful stay than in previous years in the SuperLega championship. Confirmed in the roster are central pillar Aimone Alletti who will hand over the role of captain to Filippo Lanza in his second year in Taranto. With libero Marco Rizzo and the young Apulian players Davide Luzzi (second libero) Luca Paglialunga (spiker) we then started again with new additions. Among the new arrivals are the Italian opposite Fabrizio Gironi, a welcome return to Taranto, and the spiker Tim Held from Perugia; directly from Canada is the spiker Brodie Hofer. Central player Roamy Alonso arrives from Cuba, playing for Piacenza last year. The other Belgian central defender Wout D’Heer joins from Trento, while the expert German Jan Zimmermann will be in the control room. A team made up of the right mix of experienced and young players, as evidenced by the presence of the young Apulian central hitter Cosimo Balestra and the Portuguese second setter Diogo Fevereiro, who want to use their Taranto experience as a springboard. Coach Boninfante, in his first experience in the Super League after many successes in A2, will also be able to count on the expert opposite Andrea Santangelo as Gironi’s deputy, who has great energy and enthusiasm.

Itas Trentino

After having won the CEV Champions League in the previous season and obtained first place in the Regular Season of the SuperLega, the yellow-blue team returns to the starting line with a starting sextet that has changed its physiognomy slightly compared to the one that had triumphed in Antalya last May 5th. The only real addition is that of the Brazilian Flavio Gualberto, a central defender taken from Perugia, who with Kozamernik will make up a very assorted pair in attack and blocking, characteristics common to Fabio Soli’s entire team who, for the rest, will be able to count on a mainstay all-Italian backbone made up of Sbertoli, Rychlicki, Michieletto, Lavia and Laurenzano. The other changes exclusively concern the bench, further rejuvenated with the promotion to the first team of the Italians Pellacani (central) and Bristot (spiker) and strengthened by the hiring of two elements of experience and quality such as Pesaresi and Gabi Garcia. Valuable alternatives in a season that will see Trentino Volley involved on four fronts: Super League, CEV Cup, Club World Cup and, potentially, Italian Cup; in addition to the Del Monte® Supercoppa played in Florence, where the yellow-blues only stopped at the tie-break of the Final.

Rana Verona

Rana Verona warms up its engines to face the fourth season of its history in the SuperLega, the second in a row with partner Giovanni Rana at its side. The growth process started in recent years was certified by the final of the 5th Place Play Offs faced last year against Civitanova, after emerging with their heads held high in the Scudetto Quarterfinals with Perugia, who would have won the title a few weeks later. In the summer, the Club adopted the line of continuity, setting up an important consolidation of the roster available to Coach Radostin Stoytchev. Starting with captain Mozic, who has extended his contract until 2027, and Keita, the two spearheads of the Scaliger sextet. The Russian Abaev has landed in the control room, alongside the veteran Spirito, while Vitelli has arrived from Milan to complete the three-place package made up of Cortesia, Zingel and Zanotti. A welcome return is represented by Jensen, fresh from a great year in Serie A2, while Chevalier has joined the band department, where Dzavoronok and Sani have been confirmed. Finally, the libero sector remains unchanged, with D’Amico and Bonisoli. Alongside Coach Stoytchev and deputy Simoni, the technical staff then welcomed assistant coach Marchesan. Significant renewals and targeted additions, therefore, for Verona, determined to take another step forward in its development path, from both a sporting and corporate point of view.
