The talented Mattia Pievani will be the other opposite, together with the expert Davide Cester, available to coach Michele Totire. With a jump of two categories, the young Ligurian left-handed hammer born in 2001 will make his entry into professionalism with the Negrini CTE shirt.
Mattia introduces himself to his new club by talking about his career: “My volleyball career began in my hometown, Finale Ligure, where I played for many years in the Volley Team Finale arriving in Serie C. The passion for this sport has always driven to give my best. I had a break when I received a more stable job offer from the bar where I worked seasonally in Finalborgo. But after a while I started training again because I missed volleyball and the team.”
A return to the world of volleyball in style that led him to be noticed:
“Let’s say that after the 2023/2024 season I was surprised because some teams showed interest in me, but certainly the proposal from Negrini CTE was the one that impressed me the most. I met the coach personally and he told me about the club’s project, I found it ambitious and well structured, and this was one of the reasons that pushed me to accept their proposal. Furthermore, it’s not every day you have the chance to play in Serie A3, with athletes of that level!”
In conclusion Mattia sets the objectives:
“My main goal is to grow as a person and above all as a player, improving both technically and physically. I want to give my contribution to the team and demonstrate my value on and off the pitch. I believe that the club’s objective is to achieve the best possible results in the championship, creating solid cohesion among teammates and working hard to face every match. I don’t know the group yet, but I am convinced that, with the right commitment, we can achieve great goals together!”
