Another renewal arrives at Volley Tricolore: Andrea Gasparini confirmed as opposite.
Born in 1996, Gasparini chooses Conad for his seventh season in Serie A: “It’s great in Reggio Emilia, this year has gone very well for me both from a physical and technical point of view. I was interested in staying in a team that faced a high level championship in the upcoming season and Volley Tricolore gave me the opportunity to do so, so as soon as we found an agreement I was happy to sign my confirmation.”
Born and raised as a place four spiker, in the 2023/2024 season Gasparini finds himself having to play the role of opposite, to help the team in a moment of difficulty and, given his ability to adapt to the position, the club has decided to confirm him : “I think my change of role went well, the opposite is a position I had held in the past, but had never done in Serie A2. The reconfirmation as opposite shows that I have done a good job; now the objective will be to find space in this role and do well in this championship.”
What are the expectations for the upcoming championship?
“The level of the championship is rising a lot, great players are arriving in Serie A2, many are also coming from the Super League and therefore it won’t be easy. We will try to save ourselves as soon as possible, perhaps more easily than last season, then we will see what results we can achieve.”
