Nicolò Volpe is a new player for Cosedil Saturnia Acicastello. The central defender born in 2003, originally from Ciriè (Turin), has played in A2 for Reggio Emilia in the last two seasons, after having played for Vero Volley Monza. Volpe, like Filippo Bartolucci, is also involved with the national under 22 team, in the collegiate season which starts today, Monday 20 May, in preparation for the European Championships, scheduled in Holland from 9 to 14 July. The young Piedmontese talent was European under 20 champion in 2022, also graduating as the best central defender in the championship.

“It will be a wonderful adventure, the first for me away from home – says the young Piedmontese centre-back – I am very happy because I know I am joining a well-built group with an excellent coach and with a club behind it that will reach an important milestone in 2025: 60 years of history. I can’t wait”.

Volpe has been involved with the Under 22 national team for two years and for this very reason he has formed a friendship with Filippo Bartolucci, whose announcement to the team dates back to last week: “We train together during college and last year we played together a world championship, it was a wonderful experience that I remember with pleasure and I know that this will bring us together several times in the coming months while waiting to start training together in Sicily”.

“I have heard very good things about Saturnia – Volpe collection – 60 years is a good achievement and this is synonymous with the fact that it is a company that works well and does so with a group that is committed to moving forward and pursuing its objectives, including that of a rapid return to the higher category. What awaits us will be a long and difficult season and I know the great public at PalaCatania will be able to make the difference.”
