Simone Lombardo is a new player for Cosedil Saturnia Acicastello.
Originally from Fiumefreddo di Sicilia, born in 1995, Lombardo played with Avimecc Modica last season, playing his first volleyball championship in the A3 series. In recent seasons he played in Sicilian Serie B teams, especially in Papiro Fiumefreddo, and before arriving in Serie A3 he also played for a year in Foligno.
“I didn’t have to be told twice and I’m still in disbelief at this great opportunity that the club wanted to give me – Lombardo’s words -; a club with a president, Luigi Pulvirenti, who together with the managers managed to bring the top volleyball after so many years. As a Sicilian I feel a greater responsibility, because Catania is a symbol of Sicilian volleyball, it has an important tradition, and I can’t wait to get started.”
