A.S. Volley Lube announces that spiker Alex Nikolov, after missing the last two matches of the Credem Banca 5th Place Play Offs, will renounce VNL 2024 to undergo surgery to remove a herniated disc.
The Bulgarian athlete will be operated on Thursday 16 May at the Borgo Trento Hospital in Verona by Professor Massimo Balsano and will observe at least 60 days of rest before gradual recovery.
The decision was made late on Tuesday evening, during a consultation in which, in addition to the athlete himself, the red and white general manager Beppe Cormio and the team manager Matteo Carancini, Mariano Avio, health manager of the Club, Massimo Balsano, consultant, took part Cucinieri’s orthopedist, Ugo Albisinni, interventional radiologist at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute in Bologna, and Vlado Nikolov, the player’s father.
