The Italian Volleyball Federation in collaboration with Athletica Vaticana is organizing the sports solidarity auction “Together we can spike for love” on the international platform “CharityStars” from today, Tuesday 30 January: www.charitystars.com/spikeforlove
The proceeds from the auction will be made available to the Santa Marta Pediatric Dispensary Foundation – which assists families in difficult situations in the Vatican, guaranteeing free specialist medical visits and donating products for children – and the “C’è da fare ETS” Association ” committed to raising funds to finance projects to support young people in acute psychological and psychiatric distress.
On 30 January 2023, the president of FederVolley, Giuseppe Manfredi, made a commitment to Pope Francis, on the occasion of the audience with the national volleyball teams, to create a solidarity initiative through sport. And so the world of volleyball takes to the field today, making numerous objects available such as official shirts, balls and iconic “pieces” signed by the stars of the Italian national teams. The solidarity auction is also supported by the European Volleyball Confederation and by the men’s Serie A Volleyball League and the women’s Volleyball League.
In the first lot of the auction, shirts, balls and other objects signed by the athletes of the senior Italian national women’s and men’s volleyball teams are already available, starting with the two captains Myriam Sylla and Simone Giannelli.
