Emma Villas Siena does not stop during the Christmas holidays. The team continues training and preparation in view of the next championship match, which is scheduled for Tuesday 26 December at 6pm at PalaEstra against Kemas Lamipel Santa Croce. The match will be valid for the thirteenth day of the championship, the last of the first round.

It will be a direct clash with a view to the playoffs. Emma Villas Siena is currently fifth in the standings with 22 points, Santa Croce is in eighth position with 16 points. The top seven teams ranked at the end of the regular season will go to the playoffs.

Siena comes to this challenge after giving itself a nice Christmas present. In fact, on the last day of the championship, the Tuscan team went on to win at the home of Delta Group Porto Viro at the end of a match played with so much substance and quality: those won on the Po delta were certainly three very important points for Siena in a ranking perspective. The Tuscans returned to success after three games without a win.

Krauchuk was one of the protagonists of the match, with 23 points scored and with a good performance also in batting. Sebastiano Milan (16 points), Alessio Tallone (14) and Riccardo Copelli (11) also scored double figures for the Sienese team. MVP of the match was awarded to the French setter of the Sienese team Thomas Nevot, who was good at making the team coached by coach Gianluca Graziosi spin very well.

After a difficult start to the season, Santa Croce sull’Arno has instead shifted into higher gear. The red and whites arrive at the December 26th match after having won four consecutive victories. Kemas Lamipel’s ranking has significantly improved and now Santa Croce is one step away from the playoff zone. On the last day of the championship the red and whites achieved the feat by managing to defeat the league leaders Grottazzolina who had never lost in the first eleven days of the tournament. Previously Kemas Lamipel had defeated Castellana Grotte (3-0), Porto Viro away (0-3) and Brescia (3-0).
