Italian Volleyball Federation, the Women’s Serie A Volleyball League and the Men’s Serie A Volleyball League will join the “International Day against Violence against Women” announced by the UN for Saturday 25 November with the “A Minute of Noise” initiative.

Also responding to the invitation of the Presidency of the Council to promote the toll-free anti-violence and stalking number – 1522 – Italian volleyball has therefore decided to join together to do its part in such an important moment.

The minute of noise will replace the canonical minute of silence and will be observed on all volleyball courts of all levels during the weekend of competitions on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th November: the objective, of course, is to actively participate in the necessary awareness raising against the perpetrators crime news events sadly in the limelight these days.

Before each match, with the teams lined up on the field and with male and female athletes with red mustaches on their faces, this message will be read by each speaker:

“Cultural change, true and definitive, depends on us. A slogan is not enough to stop all this violence, but it is necessary for each of us to do our part. The Presidency of the Council of Ministers – Department for Equal Opportunities – has activated a toll-free anti-violence and stalking number: 1522. If necessary, let’s use it”.

With the teams lined up on the pitch, after the kick-off and the first serve, “The Noise Minute” will officially start.
