Volley Banca Macerata is preparing to face the last joint training session, which will close the preparation phase in view of the start of the Serie A3 championship. Tomorrow at 5.30pm the red and whites will be guests of Smartsystem Fano, teams from the Blue Group who have already met Macerata at the Furiassi-Valenti Memorial played a week ago at the Banca Macerata Forum.

“It will be interesting to find Fano again and see the differences compared to the test played against them at the Memorial,” explains central defender Gabriele Sanfilippo, “We have grown in recent training sessions and this last one in Fano will allow us to understand how much we have improved on some aspects on which we worked, as well as challenging a team that will be among our opponents in the championship.” You come from two tests in which you increasingly raised the level, first with Grottazzolina then on Wednesday in the away match in Perugia, “They were two good performances. In Perugia we had the opportunity to compete against high-level players, who know how to apply a lot of pressure when serving and jumping. We held our own in the first two sets and then managed to recover the deficit in the following ones, closing two sets each; the whole team did their part, even when the coach gave space to the younger boys we didn’t drop off. Being a joint training session, it was important to evaluate our performance and we saw some aspects on which we can still improve and as I was saying, the test with Fano will be of help before the championship debut.” An intense preparation will end on Sunday, which has seen you change working methods compared to previous years, “We changed our approach to physical preparation and I must say that we got along well. The training sessions were very varied and there was always curiosity in seeing the new worksheet; it was certainly a heavy preparation but then we saw the results on the pitch: when we moved on to training on the technique we managed to express ourselves at our best, raising the quality of the training as well as the performance during the tests. Now we have to bring the good things done during preparation to the championship.”
