The words of coach Chicco Blengini and opposite number Matheus Motzo are emblematic after the second test of the season, won 3-0 last night, Friday 8 September, in Recanati in a new formation against Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina. No assessments are made in any way because the road that will lead to Credem Banca’s debut in the SuperLega, scheduled for 22 October against Vero Volley Monza at the Eurosuole Forum, is still long, but the feeling in the team group is that the path undertaken is the right one.
Gianlorenzo Blengini (coach): “The team played a good match, respecting the objectives of the day before: containing errors and finding the rhythm of the game. The boys had clear ideas and succeeded in their aim. The presence of a large audience like the one in Recanati increases the pleasure of friendly tests. Zaytsev’s muscle strain gave the young foreigners who were guests of us the chance to take part in a real match, to smell the Italian Serie A. Good for these guys, not good that Ivan stopped, but it’s a precautionary stop. At this stage it is useless to take risks, we must be cautious because the season will be long and it is not yet upon us. Those who were guests with us are about to return, but two more boys should arrive to help us together with our precious young people from the youth sector. Even with Grottazzolina the Lubini stood out, especially Cremoni and Giani, the two I used the most. Now we want to progress in the game system structures and physical condition.
Matheus Motzo: “I tried to apply in the match, against a team we didn’t know well, the fruits of the activity carried out so far in training. We are working hard on certain aspects of the game and I tried to capitalize on the coach’s dictates in the friendly match, in some moments with very positive results, in others with some mistakes, but we must continue on this path. As I continue with my preparation I start to get to know the guys better and better and we all try to push as hard as we can in every situation. The warmth of 1000 spectators gave us the energy, but in the match we did well in certain situations to stay focused and lead our game.”
