The face that almost definitively completes the Geetit Bologna roster for next season is that of the spiker Mauro Sacripanti coming out of Tuscania. The Roman hammer, born in 1998, last year reached 5th place in the Serie A3 Credem Banca ranking in the Blue group with Maury’s Com Cavi, eliminated only in Game 3 of the Quarter Finals by Abba Pineto, and a medal bronze in Coppa Italia Serie A3. Although he is now a veteran of the category, the white group is a novelty for him: “I’m very excited for the new season, also because it’s the first time I’ve played in the North and it will be particularly stimulating for me to compete against different opponents”.

10th volleyball season for Mauro, who grew up sportingly in the Sempione youth team and then joined M Roma Volley in 2011. At the age of 16 he moved to Milan where he made his debut in the B1 championship. Subsequently he returned to his homeland where he played 3 seasons in Serie A2 and two in Serie B. In recent years he stopped in southern Italy where, first in Aversa and then in Tuscania, he consolidated his name, always being one of the best.

In addition to volleyball, beach volleyball also plays a fundamental part in the sporting life of the new Rossoblu signing. Over the years he has achieved particular satisfactions, including the gold medal at the Italian U21 championships, 2 Gold tank tops and an absolute vice-champion title of Italy last year. His companions call him “iceman”, a nickname due to his being “silent and very concentrated but always very charged and attentive”.

“The roster we’re setting up is competitive – declares place 4 from Lazio – but we’ll have to work hard in the gym to get the best out of it and achieve the set results. I’m sure that with the technical staff we can do well.

Finally, an appeal to the fans and the city: “In Bologna you live off sport, you know, and in the air you can feel how the city is a protagonist in every discipline. We will do everything possible to give our best, trying to bring many fans to the arena who will be able to become more and more passionate about volleyball as well. They will be able to give us so much”.
