Volley Savigliano is pleased to announce that Matteo Pistolesi will complete the set of setters available to coach Lorenzo Simeon for Serie A3 Credem Banca 2023/24.
Born in 1995, for Matteo the landing in Savigliano also represents a return home, after years living up and down the boot, thanks to his beloved volleyball. Born in Turin, “Pisto” has actually always lived in Cuneo, where he also took his first steps in the thriving youth sector of the then Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo, of which his father Marco was manager.
After wearing the Club Italia shirt in B1 from 2013 to 2015, here is the long career among the greats, between Serie A2, lived in Siena (2015/16), Mondovì (2019/20), Cuneo (2020/21), Lagonegro (2021/22) and the large arenas of the Superlega, followed by Latina (2016/17), Ravenna (2017/18) and Piacenza (2019/20). In the last season, however, he was the starting setter of the ambitious Wow Green House Aversa in Serie A3 Credem Banca. In the palmares, for him, also the victory of a Challenge Cup, in 2018 with Ravenna.
Now, the choice to embrace the blue-and-white project: “I felt the need for a place like Savigliano, with a big club, a coach like Lorenzo Simeon and some guys I know well. I’m also here looking for redemption, after a season last year in which we all had other expectations than the results achieved. I start from scratch, with desire and humility. In addition, Savigliano is back from a great championship, so it will be a stimulus and a great challenge to demonstrate that he is up to this reality”.
