It was there at the beginning of last season and it will be there again at the beginning of next. In the meantime, three coaches have changed at Delta Group Porto Viro and also the sporting director, but Marcello Mattioli remains where he is, highly confirmed in the role of second coach.
Having arrived last summer from Reggio Emilia, with whom he had just won the Italian Cup and promotion playoffs, Mattioli immediately integrated into the reality of Porto Viro. First he was the deputy of Battocchio (whom he replaced in the preseason), then of the “ferryman” Mastrangelo during the playoffs, today he is entrusted with the task of supporting the newcomer Daniele Morato.
“First of all I want to thank the club. We decided to continue this journey together even before the end of last season and I’m happy to spend another year at Delta – says Mattioli – I’ve heard very good things about Daniele (Morato, ed) from some guys close to me and I observed on the bench during the semifinals and playoff finals. We often meet to discuss choices and we spent two days together in Porto Viro to get to know each other better in person. He has a lot of passion, he is aware and humble. I think he will find himself very comfortable in this environment. We are both ambitious and there is the intention of working closely together, creating a relationship of trust and mutual exchange of skills and knowledge. There will be sharing and collaboration on the part of both starting from training and preparation for matches”.
