The international experience of the under 19 Diavoli Rosa ends on the second step of the podium at the “Tauron Dystrybuja Talents Volleyball Cup Boys U19”, a competition organized by the Eco-Team AZS Stoelzle Częstochowa which gathered in the majestic setting of the Czestochowa Arena, temple of many international volleyball competitions, from 15 to 19 September, eight of the best youth clubs in Europe.
Among those present the under-19 team of the Diavoli Rosa coached by coach Danilo Durand who, as the only Italian team present at the competition, had the pleasure and honor of competing with teams of the caliber of VC Olimpia Berlin, the three Polish teams KS Metro Warszawa, youth of the Polish third league club, Trefl Gdansk, Superliga club, the Polish national school SMS PZPS Spala, in addition to the Slovakian SSS Trencin, the youth of the Serbian superliga club OK Vojvodina Novi Sad and the AZS home team Stoelzle Czestochowa, formations among whose ranks are protagonists of international youth competitions in their respective national teams. In fact, the faces that our European champions Barotto, Selleri and Carpita have found in Poland are different.
From a sporting point of view, the Talents Cup, sponsored by the Polish energy giant Tauron Dystrybuja, was a real success for our team who defended the titles won last season and the Italian colors very well in the presence of other European nations.
Sarto and his companions returned to Italy with a splendid silver medal around their neck.
If Friday was the day dedicated to physical preparation, held in the weight room of the Czestochowa Arena, made available by the organizers to our athletic staff, and to joint training with the home club, from Saturday the competition went live. The eight formations, divided into two groups of 4, challenged each other in races of three fixed sets, where each set awarded a point. The rosanero team, included in group B, was the turn of the two Polish teams Ks Metro Warsawa and SMS PZPS Spala and the Slovakian of Trencin.
