The New Mater Volley Castellana Grotte announces the new technical guide for the 2022/2023 season: the coach who has been entrusted with the yellow-blue bench in view of the next national championship series A2 Credem Banca of men’s volleyball is the Italian-Argentine, born in 1961, Jorge Cannestracci.
For the Buenos Aires native coach it is a return to the city of caves (in the 1995/1996 season he was the setter of Giacomelli Castellana in Serie A2) and a return to the Italian volleyball scene (having already coached in Serie A2 in Brolo, Santa Croce, Isernia, Gioia del Colle and Genoa and in series B1 in Albisola and La Maddalena). Over the past six seasons, Cannestracci has coached in Cyprus (both club and national), Iran and the United Arab Emirates. In his curriculum as a coach also experiences in Romania and Argentina. In addition to numerous titles abroad, Cannestracci’s palmares also include a B1 series championship with Genoa and two finals (Coppa Italia A2 and Playoff A2) he lost to Gioia del Colle in 2008/2009. As a player, the new coach of New Mater, in Italy, between Serie A1, Serie A2 and Serie B, with three total promotions, wore the jerseys of La Maddalena, Valdagno, Livorno, Calimera, Catania, Agrigento, Pisa and Castellana.
