It was an in-or-out game. And Santa Croce could not overcome Rome. Piacentini’s team deservedly goes through to the semi finals of the playoffs but Santa Croce offered its fans a season to remember, full of emotions.
It was always going to be difficult. And the first two encounters confirmed how tight the match-up was, there was going to be no run-over. The game went all the way to the tie-break, which started really tight (5-5) before Roma blew away (6-12) thanks to four consecutive blocks. However, pushed by its fans, the hosts did not give up and got back within 13-14. Ironically, Lukianetz who had been one of the best on the serve hit it in the net to send Roma in the semi finals.
