It ews an easy win for the defending champs Cucine Lube Civitanova on the home turf at Eurosuole Forum in Civitanova, over Gi Group Monza, a clear 3-0 for Giampaolo Medei’s team,who confirm themselves in second place in Unipolsai Superleague standings, behind four points by Sir Safety Conad Perugia. In first set Lube was great down the net, putting on ground four blocks (none from Monza), and winning the set 25-22, after Monza fought hard until 22-21. In second set Civitanova continued to have the game in their own hands, strong down the net and dangeous in the serve, helped as usual by great Osmany Juantorena, 8 points for the cuban italian in second set, and 23 in the end, earning the award as Mvp of the game. After winning second set easily 25-16, Lube also in third dominated the game, winning 25-18 third and match. Gampaolo Medei gave a day of rest to Tsvetan Sokolov, looking forward big game saturday night in PErugia versus Sir Safety Conad at PalaEvangelisti. Diatec Trentino won a difficult game at PalaBianchini over Taiwan Excellence Latina, in a nice and funny game. The home team fought all game long, especially in first set, when they won with authority the set 25-21, In secomnd set Angelo Lorenzetti’s team, who’s in a big slup after a couple of losses in Superleague and Italian Cup, fought back, by winning second set 25-20, taking the game in their own hands, stepping up with the serve with Uros Kovacevic, Aidan Zingel (Mvp of the game), and Nicholas Hoag, best scorer of the game with 20 points. In the third and fourth set Trento took in their hands the game, suffering a bit in the start of the partials, with the game on the edge, and taking important advantages approachinng the crunch time, winning both sets and game 25-18. Te besto scorer for Di Pinto’s team was serbian opposite Sasha Starovic with 18 points. 16 points for Japanese Yuki Ishikawa.
