The Pala Trento was a fortress impossible to beat for the Czech team of Budejovice. The European Champions could not have hoped for a better home debut as it obtained its sixth 3-0 in as many games at home in this competition. 13 months without a team able to grab a set in Trento, and the Czech champions were no exceptions.
“It’s been a rather easy game in which we served particularly well – said coach Stoytchev – To be honest, we did well in the other areas of the game too. Our attack and reception worked fine from start to finish, although Budejovice’s inconsistency on the serve made it easier for us”. Trento’s next encounter in the Champions League will be on Wednesday 16 December at home against Dinamo Moscow.

Perugia was all smiles in its home debut in the Challange Cup. It swept the Byelorussian team of Zhlobin in just over an hour of play after having already won the first leg away 3-1. “We dominated – said chairman Sciurpa – We proved we were clearly stronger. We should never underestimate the opponent but tonight it was all very easy even with the reserves on court. Zhlobin came here without any motivation and we certainly did not fail to take advantage”.
