Confirmation on the bench of Pool Libertas Cantù for the 2024/2025 season. Alessio Zingoni will continue to occupy his place as Second Coach of the new Coach Alessandro Mattiroli, as well as covering the role of Technical Director of the Youth Sector. It will be the fourth championship for him in the shadow of the bell tower of San Paolo, confirming the quality of the work carried out since 2021, the year of his arrival at President Ambrogio Molteni’s club.

“I strongly wanted the confirmation of Alessio Zingoni – confesses Coach Alessandro Mattiroli –, because yes he is a very young boy, but he has a great passion for what he does, and this can be seen. Despite his young age, he has a great knowledge and a lot of experience of the Serie A2 Credem Banca, and I think that having someone like that on the staff is very useful. Furthermore, his passion, his undoubted abilities, and his knowledge of the category and its players will be invaluable to me.”

“I am very happy to remain in Cantù for the fourth consecutive year as second coach and for the third as Technical Director of the Youth Sector – says the second coach from Cantù –. I feel very comfortable here, and I thank Ambrogio (President Molteni, ed.) for the opportunity he has still given me. We hope to have a good year: for us the objective remains survival, but Serie A2 gets stronger every year. and therefore even on a professional level it is always a good testing ground. Clearly we have specific qualities that we will try to carry forward. If we can stand a little higher and achieve bigger goals we will fight for those too. Of course, salvation first and then we look forward. The level of all the teams continues to rise, and we will try to do it, even if it will certainly be tough: even the teams that have moved up from Serie A3 have expert players on their rosters who know the category. It will be a ‘fight’ with everyone to try to score as many points as possible Sunday after Sunday. I have already spoken to Coach Mattiroli, and as always I will try to convey as much as I can, as well as learn from both the new head coach and the boys, which is what we coaches always do. Given that many new players will arrive, it will take longer than usual at the beginning to find the right automatic mechanisms, but it is our job and we will try to help the squad as much as possible.
