First promotion match point for Smartsystem Fano which on Saturday (6.30pm PalaBarbazza) will be the guest of Personal Time San Donà for game 2 of the final promotion.

The Virtussini, after last Sunday’s 3-1 in a fiery Palas Allende, have the aim of closing the series and will be supported by more than a hundred fans who will travel to Veneto to drag the team into the enterprise: “We are 1st in 0 for us – says central defender Pietro Galdenzi – we will give everything trying to maintain the quality of play shown in game 1. We must defend this advantage at any cost with the clear objective of closing the score on the road”.

This year, within friendly walls, the San Donato team have fallen only three times (Mantua 0-3, Garlasco 2-3 and Savigliano 1-3) while in the play-offs they left no escape for any opponent with a triple 3 to 1 Cagliari, Lagonegro and Mantua. The PalaBarbazza will be bedlam but Smartsystem is prepared and will be up to the task: “We have what it takes to close the series – says director Pier Paolo Partenio, 11 points in game 1 with 7 winning blocks – we only have to think about this match and give everything. For many guys it’s their first final but I’m sure we’ll play until the end.”

In game one, Personal Time showed off the fire-breathing Stefano Giannotti, who was decisive in the first set, and the young central defender Francesco Gustamacchia. Level performance also from director Calogero Tulone who, with Partenio, will give life to another great long-distance challenge.

Meanwhile, Fano has mobilized for this trip: a bus will leave on Saturday morning for San Donà while many fans will also arrive with their own vehicles.
