Filippo Poconi is Davide Marra’s heir at ErmGroup San Giustino, who for the role of libero has entrusted himself to an athlete with undoubted experience gained on the taraflexes of the main national categories. A true Perugino, Poconi will turn 35 next November and grew up in the ranks of Rpa Luigibacchi.it, a top flight club; he played in B2 with San Mariano (also from Perugia) and with the Sicilian Giarratana, then moving up to B1 with Catania and Orvieto. Returning to Perugia in 2012 with Sir Safety, in the first year in A1, before the journey with Emma Villas Siena from B2 to B1, then the move to Lupi Santa Croce sull’Arno and New Real Volley Gioia del Colle, still in B1. From 2017 to today, for Moltini there is only the letter A, which means A2 with Emma Villas, Acqua Fonteviva Apuana Livorno and Synergy Mondovì. Two years in the Super League with Prisma Taranto and Emma Villas Siena (for the umpteenth time) and the last championship played in the A2 with the Conad Reggio Emilia shirt. The balance is therefore 4 championships in A1 or Super League, with 93 appearances and 5 in A2, with 136 appearances. In his personal palmares, four promotions (three of which with Emma Villas Siena, starting from B2 and one from B1 to A2 in Gioia del Colle), plus two Serie B Italian Cups. Now, the arrival at San Giustino in the championship of Serie A3 Credem Banca. “I could have stayed in Reggio Emilia, because there was the intention to confirm me – said Poconi – but I asked to be able to move closer to home, trying to continue playing at a high level. Well, San Giustino is the right place in which both objectives have been achieved.” As already highlighted, it was important to fill the void left by Captain Marra and the club and sporting director Valdemaro Gustinelli acted promptly and effectively on this. “A beautiful legacy – says Poconi – that Marra leaves me with. However, I am not a young novice, so I can guarantee that I will put all my experience to good use.” Is this Pe Moltini’s first direct contact with Pallavolo San Giustino? “Yes, so far I have had the opportunity to learn some information through some players who have played here, although the feedback has always been positive.”
