An inside or outside match that will be played tonight at the home of the powerhouse FarmItalia Catania, leaders of the “Blue” group of Serie A3 volleyball, which, just three days ago, still at the foot of Etna, demonstrated its strength by beating the ‘OmiFer Palmi with a clear 3-0. On that occasion, Mr. Radici’s boys certainly didn’t disfigure by demonstrating, at times, good volleyball but “Franco Tigano” had to do without his fire mouth Pawel Stabrawa, a player who is traveling with an average points monstrous, out due to injury. This time, however, Pawel “Power” will also be on the pitch to try and win the Italy cup match, valid for access to the “final four”, finally recovered and, therefore, it could be a whole other story.
The Calabrian coach, Andrea Radici, as well as the whole environment, believes we are aware that the fact of being in the first four draw is already a great source of pride: “it is a game that we have dreamed of playing for long stretches of the first round and which, finally, arrives today – he highlighted – we are absolutely aware of the importance and also of the difficulties that we will encounter in this path today. We have before us an opponent who, just three days ago, beat us with merit and let’s say, to be explicit, even loudly but today is another day and we are certainly in a position to put all our values into this match and to face it concretely with the right attitude, with the hope of obtaining a result that would certainly be of great value; for this very reason we will leave no stone unturned. On a technical level – Radici confirms – we have also recovered Pawel Stabrawa who will be in the match even if, as it is easy to hypothesize, he is not yet in top condition but in any case he is clinically fine, cured, the doctors have given us all the necessary reassurances so we are fully staffed”. So now it’s up to the field to speak.
After Sunday’s game, the precedents between FarmItalia Catania and OmiFer Palmi “Franco Tigano” rise to six, with 4 successes for the Calabrians and 2 victories for the Sicilians. Only one ex between the two teams: it is Enrico Zappoli Guarienti in Palmi in 2020/2021.
