“Institutional” morning for Sir Susa Vim Perugia.
Angelo Lorenzetti’s Block Devils were received in the Hall of Honor of the Umbria Region by the highest regional political officials for a good start to the season.
The President of the Umbria Region Donatella Tesei and the Regional Councilor Paola Agabiti will do the honors, while the president Gino Sirci will “captain” the Juventus team and staff.
“We are here today in the Umbria Region building with the regional authorities for the start of the volleyball season,” says President Sirci. “Our regional administration is close to us and has always shown it to us in recent years. Years ago I asked for the expansion of the building, this administration in the persons of President Tesei and Councilor Agabiti was able to act and get the facts done and now the building has gone from four thousand to five thousand seats, demonstrating that this administration cares about the fate of the volleyball. So thank you president and thank you councilor, we are dealing with quality politicians. Last year we came here for the start of the season, of the five tournaments played we won two, the Italian Super Cup and the Club World Cup. And also for this year we have good intentions, I feel and am convinced that with the desire and the class of our players we will be able to do well. I hope that these intentions can then be transferred to the performances of our boys on the pitch.”
“Thanks to President Sirci for his commitment and ability to involve the institutions and Umbrian society in this important project of great value for our region,” explains councilor Agabiti. “We have committed ourselves with an important contribution to redeveloping the PalaBarton which has also made it possible to host the European volleyball championships, a prestigious showcase also as a promotion for our region. We worked hard. A redeveloped building also means being able to host many fans in a beautiful and welcoming place, with the European volleyball players we were able to offer a showcase for Perugia and all of Umbria. I wish the president and the team good luck for the season.”
“Today is a beautiful day, we are pleased to have welcomed you in the Hall of Honor which we reserve for important meetings”, concludes President Tesei. “We saw each other here last year immediately after the Club World Cup, it was a joy to recognize your great merit and I really hope to repeat that meeting at the end of this new season.
